CARES Program

CARES (Children Are Receiving Extended Service)
Hours: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM.

CARES is only operational on the days that school is in session a full day. In the case of an early dismissal, after school care will not be provided. While in CARES, children are actively engaged with the teachers. 

In our program, teachers play games, oversee crafts, etc. Some of the activities in CARES will include line dancing, soccer, basketball games, cheerleading, and much more! Activity schedules are distributed weekly

What does a typical day in CARES look like?

• 3:05 - 3:30: Check-in, Snack (provided, though children are also welcome to bring their own snack).

• 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM Outside playtime

• 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Thursday): Homework in the Science Lab for Grades 2-6;
  K-1: Homework in the CARES room. (Parents are to check homework for accuracy and neatness.)

• 5:00-6:00: Outside or Inside free-play

Registration Fee
There is a yearly, per family registration fee of $30. This allows families to use the program whenever they choose, morning and/or afternoon.

Invoices
We have set a reasonable to make the program affordable to all families. Invoices are sent out monthly, payable due upon receipt. Invoices are calculated based on the following fee structure:

• Cost:
  1 child: $5 per half-hour
  2 children: $7 per half-hour
  3 children: $9 per half-hour
  

  *Failure to retrieve children by 6:00 PM will result in a fine of $15 for every 15 minutes. If you know you are going to be past 6:00 PM, please make arrangements for your children.
  
  *CARES will be unavailable to those with two or more outstanding invoices. If you have any questions regarding an invoice, please contact Mrs. Cathy Kemery, CARES Coordinator.
