We are almost in October. Now is a good time to make sure you have at least one grade recorded for each subject in FACTS. Progress reports will go out on October 22, 2026 for students in Grades 1 through 8. Please do not hold on to your grades, They need to be posted in FACTS as well as being sent home to the parents. If you need help, please ask.
We are going to take a drill break this week, but our next announced drill will be an internal lockdown drill. Please begin reviewing that in each homeroom and in special classes so students know what to expect and where to go. This is a bit more involved than our last drill.
We will have Mass this Friday with a rehearsal on Thursday afternoon. I will practice the Student Council Installation portion of Mass with our officers and representatives before Mass rehearsal on Thursday. I will be using our Student Council Officers and Reps as participants in our Mass. I will announce all representatives during morning announcements tomorrow. Parents have been notified.
We will be using new morning prayers and afternoon prayers this year. These prayers come from the list of Required Prayers by Grade Level: Required Prayers. There is a sheet in your blue folder that has all of the prayers. I am attaching a file that has a link to a Google Slides presentation that has each of the new prayers: Prayers. I would recommend pulling that up as we get started each day. The children will be learning the long form of the Act of Contrition that the Office of Catechetical Formation would like all students to know. They will not need to know that for this week’s confessions. We are going to work toward using the long form in November. Please begin reviewing with the children in religion class each day.

Virtue for the Month of September: Charity
Our theme this year is “Let us love one another for love comes from God.” This ties in with the Archdiocesan dedication to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our virtue for this month is charity - showing love for God and love for others. It is our hope that the students will recognize those who shine the light of virtue as they strive to be witnesses of God’s love. Any teacher or staff member may nominate any student for our virtue wall of fame in the main lobby. Our October Virtue will be Friendship. Here is the Virtues program: Virtues Program
