Weekly Snapshot #5 - Week of October 5, 2026
Week of October 5, 2026
We have made it to October, and some days it very much feels like we had never left at all for the summer. Progress reports will go out through FACTS on October 22, 2026 for students in Grades 1 through 8. Please do not hold on to your grades, They need to be posted in FACTS as well as being sent home to the parents. If you need help, please ask. At our professional development on Friday, we will be walking through some parts of FACTS that we need for progress reports. You will need access to a computer on Friday. You may dress comfortably on Friday. Breakfast will be provided. We will be finished before lunch.
We will do an Internal Lockdown drill on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 in the afternoon. Please be sure to use your red emergency folders to go through the process and expectations with your students. We also welcome Maria Dell to our faculty this week. Please be your normal helpful selves in making Maria feel welcome.
Frank is currently out of work with a broken tailbone. He fell from a ladder and sustained this injury. I will have a card for us to sign and send next week, but he would LOVE to get cards from the children. He is greatly missed. If you could have any cards to the office by the end of next week we will get those to him.
I sent an email regarding Picture Day earlier this afternoon so you have a sense of what is going on for Tuesday. I will send a detailed email regarding Grandparents Day over the weekend. We are going to do a prayer service instead of the living Rosary. Once I have that finalized, I will share that as well. I appreciate all of the ideas that were shared and the feedback of those who stayed for our meeting on Monday afternoon.
We will be using new morning prayers and afternoon prayers this year. These prayers come from the list of Required Prayers by Grade Level: Required Prayers. There is a sheet in your blue folder that has all of the prayers. I am attaching a file that has a link to a Google Slides presentation that has each of the new prayers: Prayers. I would recommend pulling that up as we get started each day. The children will be learning the long form of the Act of Contrition that the Office of Catechetical Formation would like all students to know. They will not need to know that for this week’s confessions. We are going to work toward using the long form in November. Please begin reviewing with the children in religion class each day.
Words of Wisdom for the Week
“Patience is the companion of wisdom.” — St. Augustine
Virtue for the Month of October: Friendship
Our theme this year is “Let us love one another for love comes from God.” This ties in with the Archdiocesan dedication to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our virtue for this month is charity - showing love for God and love for others. It is our hope that the students will recognize those who shine the light of virtue as they strive to be witnesses of God’s love. Any teacher or staff member may nominate any student for our virtue wall of fame in the main lobby. Here is the Virtues program: Virtues Program
