CARES Program

C.A.R.E.S. (Children Are Receiving Extended Service)
Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:45 AM and 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM.

C.A.R.E.S. is only operational on the days that school is in session for a full day. In the case of an early dismissal, after school care will not be provided. In the case of a late arrival, morning care will not be provided. While in C.A.R.E.S., children are actively engaged with the teachers. 

What does a typical day in CARES look like?

• 3:05 PM - 3:30 PM: Check-in & Snack (Children must bring a snack for C.A.R.E.S.)

• 3:30 PM – 4:00 PM Outside playtime (weather permitting; gym will be used on inclement weather days)

• 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Thursday): Homework in the Science Lab for Grades 2-6;
  K-1: Homework in the C.A.R.E.S. room. (Parents are to check homework for accuracy and neatness).

• 5:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Outside or Inside free-play

Registration Fee
There is a yearly, per family registration fee of $30. This allows families to use the program whenever they choose, morning and/or afternoon.

Invoices
We have set a reasonable to make the program affordable to all families. Invoices are sent out monthly and are payable upon receipt. Accounts that fall in arrears may endanger a family’s ability to use the program. Invoices are calculated based on the following fee structure:

CARES Fees

• $14 per hour 1 child / $ 7 per half hour

• $18 per hour 2 children/ $ 9 per half hour

• $22 per hour 3 children / $ 11 half hour
  *Afternoon snacks will not be provided.
  

  *Failure to retrieve children by 5:30 PM will result in a fine of $1 for every minute late. If you know you are going to be past 5:30 PM, please make arrangements for your children.
  
  *C.A.R.E.S. will be unavailable to those with outstanding invoices. If you have any questions regarding an invoice, please contact Mrs. Cathy Kemery, CARES Coordinator.
