Week of November 2, 2026
We are in November. Progress is being made every day. I know it is hard to see when you are in the thick of things. You do such good work every day. Do not become discouraged by the hard days. Hang in there and keep up the good fight. This is a relatively calm week. I saved the external; lockdown drill. There was enough going on this week. I did not think you would mind. We will have Mass rehearsal on Thursday and Mass on Friday. I will include links to the Kid Talk Lessons in the email so you can plan your lesson this week. Please email me the date and time of your lesson this week.
Our next drill will be an unannounced External Lockdown Drill since this is the easiest to execute. We will do that this week. Please be sure that your doors are locked at all times so that you simply need to move the magnet strip.
We will be using new morning prayers and afternoon prayers this year. These prayers come from the list of Required Prayers by Grade Level: Required Prayers. There is a sheet in your blue folder that has all of the prayers. I am attaching a file that has a link to a Google Slides presentation that has each of the new prayers: Prayers. I would recommend pulling that up as we get started each day. The children will be learning the long form of the Act of Contrition that the Office of Catechetical Formation would like all students to know. They will not need to know that for this week’s confessions. We are going to work toward using the long form on Monday. Please begin reviewing with the children in religion class each day.
Words of Wisdom for the Week
“He who trusts in himself is lost. He who trusts in God can do all things.” - St. Alphonsus Liguori
Virtue for the Month of November: Courtesy
Our theme this year is “Let us love one another for love comes from God.” This ties in with the Archdiocesan dedication to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our virtue for this month is courtesy. Do you see anyone going out of their way to hold doors or being polite? It is our hope that the students will recognize those who shine the light of virtue as they strive to be witnesses of God’s love. Any teacher or staff member may nominate any student for our virtue wall of fame in the main lobby. Here is the Virtues program: Virtues Program.
