Week of October 26, 2026
We have made it to the midway point of the trimester! Grades for the trimester will close on December 11, so continue to add grades to FACTS when you have them. Thank you to all who loaded their grades to the progress reports. That helped to make life easier for me when it was time to review. Please note that actual grades load to the progress report and report cards. Remember that no grade below a 60 can be recorded while no grade above a 99 can be recorded. I know that that seems counterintuitive.
Our next drill will be an unannounced External Lockdown Drill since this is the easiest to execute. We will do that this week. Please be sure that your doors are locked at all times so that you simply need to move the magnet strip.
We will be using new morning prayers and afternoon prayers this year. These prayers come from the list of Required Prayers by Grade Level: Required Prayers. There is a sheet in your blue folder that has all of the prayers. I am attaching a file that has a link to a Google Slides presentation that has each of the new prayers: Prayers. I would recommend pulling that up as we get started each day. The children will be learning the long form of the Act of Contrition that the Office of Catechetical Formation would like all students to know. They will not need to know that for this week’s confessions. We are going to work toward using the long form in November. Please begin reviewing with the children in religion class each day.

Virtue for the Month of October: Friendship
Our theme this year is “Let us love one another for love comes from God.” This ties in with the Archdiocesan dedication to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our virtue for this month is friendship. Do you see someone being a good friend to others? It is our hope that the students will recognize those who shine the light of virtue as they strive to be witnesses of God’s love. Any teacher or staff member may nominate any student for our virtue wall of fame in the main lobby. Here is the Virtues program: Virtues Program. Our virtue for the month of November is courtesy.
