Weekly Snapshot #11 - Week of November 3, 2025
Week of November 3, 2025
We have made it to November! We should have a few weeks of relative normal before the December madness begins. Be sure to use this time to get in some good work before the Polar Express takes the train off the tracks. Thank you all so much for making Halloween such a special time for our children! I know how exhausting it is to put forth the energy and maintain your patience. You are a wonderful group of educators, and the love you have for what you do is evident. I wish you a calm week ahead! Don’t forget to set clocks back one hour. You get an extra hour of weekend!
Please remember that your websites should always be up-to-date. If you are having a tough time finding time for this, perhaps consider dedicating part of one prep period each week to this effort. If you have copies that need to be made during those preps and that is what is taking time away, Teri and I are always happy to help with that project so that you can do more important work on your prep periods. All you need to do is ask and give us directions.
We will kick off our annual Thanksgiving Food Collection next Thursday. Since our virtue for the month of November is stewardship, this is a good time to teach the lesson that we should always give with the expectation of receiving nothing in return. There is no special dress down associated with the collection. I am attaching the list for each classroom so you know what to anticipate. As we did last year, donations can be placed in the hallway each day, and we will come around to collect on the carts.
Winter Uniforms begin on Monday. The only additional items that may be worn in the classroom are ¼ zip pullovers, sweaters, or sweater vests. Eighth grade on Mondays would be the exception to this rule. Hooded sweatshirts are not part of our regular uniform. Everyone who does not have a medical exemption should be back in regular shoes on Monday.
Please note that Sister Hannah will be traveling on a pilgrimage to Italy from November 9 through November 21, 2025. You will have your class for the regular Religion classes on these days. We hope that Sister Hannah will have a wonderful and safe trip.
Words of Wisdom for the Week
“All the science of the saints is summed up in this: to do all for the love of God.” - St. Alphonsus Liguori
Virtue for the Month of November: Stewardship
All teachers are teachers of the faith in our school, so all teachers may send to the office at any time throughout the month names of students who are modeling the virtue of stewardship. Be on the lookout for those students who give their time and talent to others freely. Who is always willing to pitch in and help others? You are also welcome to discuss the virtue of the month in any class you are teaching. We will announce the names of those students on the loud speaker and place their names on stars which will be displayed for all to see. In this way, we share their light and shine a light on their goodness.
