Weekly Snapshot #7 - Week of October 6, 2025
St. Elizabeth School Weekly Snapshot
Week of October 6, 2025
We have made it to October! Before we know it, December will be on the horizon. Please remember that you should have at least three grades recorded for each subject by the week of October 20, 2025. These do not need to be (nor should they be) only tests. We should be using varied assessments to get a full picture of what our students are learning and producing. I will be checking Option C next week to see where we are in terms of progress.
We will have a Fire Drill some time during the week of October 5, 2025. Our next announced drill will be an Internal Lockdown Drill on October 22, 2025. Please be sure to start reviewing this procedure with your classes. This one is a bit more involved than our external lockdown drill. Please be sure that your doors are always locked so that you can simply move the magnet and pull the door closed in the event of an emergency.
Grandparents Day directions and schedule are attached to this email. I will have lists of groups and dismissal plans ready by Monday afternoon. Responses are still coming through, and we are up to 98 families. Sister Hannah and I will bring the “beads” over to practice in Church at 9:00 AM on Monday. If you have not sent me your names, please do so ASAP.
Please note that morning arrival duty ends at 8:05 AM. That should give enough time to get to your classroom for prayers. I aim for an 8:07 AM start time each day for prayers. If you receive doctor’s notes or absence notes, please keep them in a file in your classroom. They must be kept for one year. After a year, they can be discarded.
If you have any items you would like to discuss at the Faculty Meeting on Wednesday, please let me know by completing a Faculty Meeting Agenda Input form that is attached to this email.
Words of Wisdom for the Week
“Unfurl the sails, and let God steer us where He will.” - St. Bede the Venerable
Virtue for the Month of October: Reverence
All teachers are teachers of the faith in our school, so all teachers may send to the office at any time throughout the month names of students who are modeling the virtue of reverence. You are also welcome to discuss the virtue of the month in any class you are teaching. We will announce the names of those students on the loud speaker and place their names on stars which will be displayed for all to see. In this way, we share their light and shine a light on their goodness.
