Weekly Snapshot #8 - Week of October 13, 2025
St. Elizabeth School Weekly Snapshot
Week of October 13, 2025
This Sunday we will celebrate our annual Fall Festival! It is a rain or shine event. We have developed a magical indoor plan that will be fantastic. You are all more than welcome to join in the fun between 12:30 and 3:00 PM. The costume contest will be held at 1:30 PM in the Social Hall. You are our guests and do not need to purchase any tickets to the festival. We hope to see you there!
Please remember that you should have at least three grades recorded for each subject by the week of October 20, 2025. These do not need to be (nor should they be) only tests. We should be using varied assessments to get a full picture of what our students are learning and producing. I will be checking Option C this week to see where we are in terms of progress.
Our next announced drill will be an Internal Lockdown Drill on October 22, 2025. Please be sure to start reviewing this procedure with your classes. This one is a bit more involved than our external lockdown drill. Please be sure that your doors are always locked so that you can simply move the magnet and pull the door closed in the event of an emergency.
I will be in school on Monday and Tuesday. I will not be in school from Wednesday through Friday. I am always available by email or text. We are in meetings until about 3:00 every day. Andrew, Jen, and Sandi are here to assist anyone who needs help with children who are out of sorts or emergency situations. They do not have permission to grant a snow day or a half day dismissal, so do not let them convince you otherwise. Father Donia will be around if we need any upper level administrative decisions. If anyone wants to attend Trunk-or-Treat or our Halloween Dance, we would be thrilled to see you there!
Thank you for all the offers of help and switching with me for duties! You are all a blessing, and you know that I HATE not being here with you. Andrew will do Morning CARES on Wednesday and Thursday. Amy Laughlin will do Morning CARES on Friday. Louise will take over my dismissal duties (and Britney Spears mike) in the gym at the car line on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Sandi will cover my car line in the gym on Tuesday. Madelyn will take Sandi’s curb spot for the car line. Sarah and I have switched morning duties. Sandi and I have switched cafeteria duties.
Thank you all for getting your conferences up and running and thank you to Kathleen for helping me fix the web of technical difficulties that we found ourselves dealing with on Wednesday.
Words of Wisdom for the Week
“Remember that when you leave this earth, you can take with you nothing that you have received - only what you have given.” - St. Francis of Assisi
Virtue for the Month of October: Reverence
All teachers are teachers of the faith in our school, so all teachers may send to the office at any time throughout the month names of students who are modeling the virtue of reverence. You are also welcome to discuss the virtue of the month in any class you are teaching. We will announce the names of those students on the loud speaker and place their names on stars which will be displayed for all to see. In this way, we share their light and shine a light on their goodness.
