Weekly Snapshot #2 - Week of September 14, 2026
Week of September 14, 2026
You did it! You survived Week 1! What a week it was. Give yourself and everyone around you some grace. We had four days of school. We had more smiling faces than sad ones. No one got lost going home from school. Everyone showed up happy and ready to go. Remember that the beginning of the year is hard for us because we leave a fully trained group of students in June to pick up with fully untrained students in September. Better days are ahead. Use next week to breathe a bit. I know we have iReady. Breathe through that as well. I am working on organizing all of that over the weekend. We will not be starting on Monday. We are going to wait until Tuesday. We are going to do our best. We are going to see how it goes. We are going to have very low expectations for success. You will get a full email with specific directions for iReady in a separate email. A schedule will be sent once I have it ready.
Please review procedures for fire drills with your students. We will have our first fire drill next Thursday afternoon around 1:30 PM. It is an announced fire drill so you can tell children that it is happening. Specials teachers will need to review with each group just in case. Your red folders were in your mailboxes. I will do a sweep on Monday to deliver any that may still be hanging out in the boxes.
We will be using new morning prayers and afternoon prayers this year. These prayers come from the list of Required Prayers by Grade Level: Required Prayers. There is a sheet in your blue folder that has all of the prayers. I am attaching a file that has a link to a Google Slides presentation that has each of the new prayers: Prayers. I would recommend pulling that up as we get started each day. The children will be learning the long form of the Act of Contrition that the Office of Catechetical Formation would like all students to know. They will not need to know that for this week’s confessions. We are going to work toward using the long form in November. Please begin reviewing with the children in religion class each day.
Teacher Information Forms & Staff Emergency Forms were due on Friday. Responsible Use Form & Faculty Handbook Forms were due last Friday. If you still have these forms, please give them to Rebecca ASAP.
Words of Wisdom for the Week
“Love unites us to God; it cancels innumerable sins, has no limits to its endurance, bears everything patiently.” - St. Clement I
Virtue for the Month of September: Charity
Our theme this year is “Let us love one another for love comes from God.” This ties in with the Archdiocesan dedication to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Our virtue for this month is charity - showing love for God and love for others. It is our hope that the students will recognize those who shine the light of virtue as they strive to be witnesses of God’s love. Any teacher or staff member may nominate any student for our virtue wall of fame in the main lobby. I have to catch up on that and birthdays next week. I have to find the birthday list in FACTS. Here is the Virtues program: Virtues Program
