Weekly Snapshot #36 - Week of May 11, 2026
Week of May 11, 2026
There are only 5 Mondays until the end of the school year! We are getting closer to the finish line. Keep trying to wrap up those priority topics as we await word on what the new assessments will be like. Here is a link to the Archdiocesan Curriculum for your reference: AoP Curriculum Guidelines. There will be NO SPECIAL SCHEDULES this week. We have just three days, and I am trying to keep them as normal as possible. If you have not done so, please let Kathleen Brady know if you will be attending our Italian Garden Party. It is going to be a beautiful event for our school!
I have not received any further guidance from OCE on end-of-year benchmarks, but I do have the dates for next year. That is very helpful. We will discuss the calendar for next year (get those planners ready), Terra Nova results, end of year paperwork, and general logistics at our meeting on Friday. I would like for end of year paperwork to be done on May 15th after our meeting while we have the time and no students. There is no speaker for Friday. The dress code is comfortable and casual because we will use Friday to start wrapping the end of the year. We will begin our day at 9:30 AM. We will end our day at 1:30. Aides and any specials teachers who do not work on Fridays need not be present, but you are always welcome.
The third trimester will be over before you know it. Remember that you need FIVE grades for each subject by the end of the trimester. They should not be all tests. A variety of assessments should be used - classwork, projects, quizzes, tests, etc. You should have half of your grades posted by this point. Please devote time during prep periods to getting grades uploaded to Option C each week. Sending test folders home is not sufficient. The grades must be posted to Option C as well. Please use the time on Friday to get caught up on grading.
Please be sure that students have their golf shirts tucked into their skirts, pants, or shorts. Some of them are wandering the halls looking a bit hoboesque.
Please be sure to pull your blinds ALL the way down when you leave each day and be sure that they are closed. We appreciate your help with this.

Words of Wisdom for the Week
"Never be in a hurry; do quietly what has to be done. When you are tempted to be impatient with others, think of how patient God is with you.” - St. Francis de Sales
Virtue for the Months of May & June: Zeal
All teachers are teachers of the faith in our school, so all teachers may send to the office at any time throughout the month names of students who are modeling the virtue of zeal. Zeal is being motivated by an intense love of God. Do you have students who are always ready for prayer as soon as you are ready? Do you have students who jump up to help when needed? That is zeal! Be on the lookout for those students who are enthusiastic in lessons and kind to classmates.
