Weekly Snapshot #26 - Week of March 2, 2026
Week of March 2, 2026
What a week that was! I know we are all over the winter weather. I hope that you will get outside for some sunshine and fresh air that does not involve supervision of children this weekend! There is a stomach bug going around the building. I have heard that grape juice helps to ward it off. I am not sure if wine has the same benefits, so no judgment on those testing the hypothesis. It is always a great time to hit those priority topics. Here is the link to the Archdiocesan Curriculum for your reference: AoP Curriculum Guidelines. I am still waiting on the response to the invitation I extended to OCE. I will keep you posted. Our second trimester will end on March 13, 2026. You will need to have FIVE grades per subject area. They do not all need to be tests or quizzes. There should be a variety of assessments. Report cards will go home on March 20, 2026.
Act 48 credits will be available for our professional development on Monday, March 16, 2026. The registration link will be sent separately so it does not get lost in the snapshot. More information will be available at our March Faculty Meeting on March 11, 2026.
Our door decorating contest will take place next week. We ask that all doors be decorated by Monday, but Kathleen will not be here for photographs until Tuesday, so you have a little bit of breathing room for those doors that need some finishing touches. The doors are looking great already! Thank you for doing this. I know that we all love doing extra work!
The DASD nurse will return on March 4, 2026 for Grade 2 health screenings and to screen any students who were absent on Tuesday. We will begin with Grade 2 in the CARES classroom and then start calling for students in need of screening in other grades. We appreciate your flexibility.
Mona, Sophia, and Delaney will participate in the grade level spelling bees this week. Delaney will compete at SS. Peter & Paul School on March 2, 2026 @ 1:00 PM. Sophia will compete at St. Agnes School on March 3, 2025 @ 9:30 AM. Mona will compete at St. Maximilian Kolbe School on March 4, 2025 @ 1:00 PM. We wish the girls the best of luck in their competitions!
Louise will be teaching the Heritage Mass setting on Monday at our rehearsal. Yesterday, I sent a video. I am including the time stamps that feature the parts of the Mass that Louise was kind enough to organize in case you wanted to listen with your classes. These are the time stamps: Holy 8:38, Amen 10:16, and Lamb of God 10:38. Here is the video link: Heritage Mass
Monday is Monochromatic Monday. I can’t wait to see the outfits! Here is what each grade will be wearing. You can choose any color you like if you are participating.
Pre-KA & Pre-KB - GREEN KA - ORANGE Grade 1 - YELLOW Grade 2A & 2B - PURPLE
Grade 3 - PINK Grade 4 - WHITE Grade 5 - GREY Grade 6 - BLUE Grade 7 - RED
Grade 8 - BLACK
Please remember that iPads and Chromebooks should ONLY be used for educational purposes when children are fully supervised. They are NOT permitted to be used during homeroom at arrival or dismissal, at morning recess, or at lunch recess. I know that it is easy to just give the children a device to play on when we have things to get done and need a minute in those down times, but there are a plethora of other options. They get enough screen exposure and stimulation.
Save the Date - Our Variety Show will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 in the Gym. More details will be provided as we get closer to the date. We would love to have some extra help if you are able to assist with practices, auditions, or the show itself. Variety Show Help
Statement of Intention responses are due to the office by Friday, March 6, 2026. You can place them in my mailbox in the office or leave them on my desk. If you misplace your paper, Teri has a few extra.
Words of Wisdom for the Week
“Do not try to excuse your faults; try to correct them.” - St. Don Bosco
Virtue for the Month of March: Mercy
All teachers are teachers of the faith in our school, so all teachers may send to the office at any time throughout the month names of students who are modeling the virtue of mercy. Be on the lookout for those students who show genuine care for others or those who are generally kind and forgiving.
