Week of September 15, 2025
What a week that was! I have heard nothing but positive feedback from parents on our Back-to-School Night experience. I am curious to hear your thoughts, so you will discuss that in our Faculty Meeting this week. I am attaching an agenda suggestion sheet. If you have a matter to discuss that would impact most of the staff and you would like to discuss, please list it on the attached sheet and drop it into my mailbox by Tuesday morning. If you have a matter specific to you or your grade or class, please come see me, and we will sort that out together. Think of the “reply all” feature in an email. Not everything is for everybody.
Please review the procedure for External Lockdown with students this week. We will have a drill at some time on Thursday morning. This is the easiest drill that we practice. You basically close doors, windows, and blinds, and keep working. No one gets in the building and no one can leave the building. I will let you know a time target on Thursday morning so that you can have students with you and not in the bathrooms.
Teachers in Grades 4 through 7 should find time this week to do their homeroom elections for student council. Last year, we had two representatives per classroom. I am attaching a list of students who have submitted interest forms to me so you know who is running for election. Grade 8 speeches and elections will be held on Friday. I will need the names of all classroom representatives by lunch time on Friday.
I am attaching the Act of Faith to the email again this week so that you can either display it for your students or print it for their use. Practice makes perfect! I have heard more voices praying with me in the morning. We will get there. This is new to our students. Please display the monthly virtue sign in your classroom and start sending me any names of students who are showing faith in action. I would love to display our shining stars!
PREP (formerly EFF) Classes will be on Monday and Tuesday after school. Again, I will attach a list of classrooms being used to this email so you know who is where and when. If anything is out of place in your room, please let me know.
You should be receiving dismissal emails from School Pass each day. If you are not getting them, please let me know so we can figure out why. I am using a new Google group for distribution of Weekly Snapshots starting this week since Outlook does not want to communicate with everyone. Technology is FANTASTIC!
Please note that morning arrival duty ends at 8:05 AM. That should give enough time to get to your classroom for prayers. I aim for an 8:07 AM start time each day for prayers.

Virtue for the Month of September: Faith
All teachers are teachers of the faith in our school, so all teachers may send to the office at any time throughout the month names of students who are modeling the virtue of faith. You are also welcome to discuss the virtue of the month in any class you are teaching. We will announce the names of those students on the loud speaker and place their names on stars which will be displayed for all to see. In this way, we share their light and shine a light on their goodness.
