Rev. Thomas M. Mullin - Pastor

Rev. Thomas Mullin is the founding pastor of Saint Elizabeth Church and has served the parish community since July 1, 2000.  He was ordained on May 17, 1975.  Prior to his coming to Saint Elizabeth, Father Mullin served eight years in parish ministry, four years in post-graduate biblical studies in Rome, and 13 years on the faculty and administration of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Overbrook.  A product of 24 years of Catholic education,  Father Mullin is committed to ensuring that the parish school not only provides a quality academic education for our children, but also fosters their faith formation as disciples of Jesus Christ, and their commitment to stewardship service for others.

Rev. John P. Stokely - Parochial Vicar

Rev. John Stokely recalls first wanting to become a priest when he was in first grade. Now he is living the dream as Parochial Vicar at Saint Elizabeth. Father John was ordained to the priesthood in May 2013 by Archbishop Charles J. Chaput. He is a graduate of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Bishop Shanahan High School, and Saint Aloysius Academy. Father John says his number one goal is to help others experience the love of Jesus Christ, and the joy of being a disciple. 

Dr. Diane Greco - Principal

Dr. Diane Greco views herself as a Mercy girl, committed to learning of a higher order through a Catholic values-based education.  She is a 32 year veteran of Catholic schools, and earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester in English and Secondary Education; her Master’s degree from Nazareth College in Elementary Education and Reading; and her Doctorate from Immaculata University in Educational Leadership.  She holds permanent certification N-12 in New York State; Instructional II N-8 in Pennsylvania; and Principal’s certification in Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Elizabeth Oulton - Secretary

Mrs. Elizabeth Oulton has been happy to welcome our families to Saint Elizabeth Parish School since 2009.  She earned her Bachelor of Science from LaSalle University, and previously worked in Human Resources.  She stayed home with her three daughters for a number of years before returning to work in a school office.  When she is not here at school, she is rooting for the Alabama Crimson Tide, and enjoying time with her family.

Mrs. Jennifer Dawson - KA

Mrs. Jennifer Dawson is blessed to be teaching Kindergarten here at Saint Elizabeth.  She graduated from Cabrini College with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. In Kindergarten, we grow and learn in so many exciting ways throughout the year.  She loves teaching in a Catholic environment and being able to pray, talk about Jesus, and attend Mass in an educational setting.

Ms. Emily Benner - KB

Ms. Emily Benner is a new Kindergarten teacher at Saint Elizabeth, and she is very excited to be here!  She graduated from Penn State Harrisburg with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education, with a certification for teaching Pre Kindergarten through 4th grades. She looks forward to working with you and your child!

Mrs. Lori Holmes - 1A

Mrs. Lori Holmes have been an educator with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for 14 years.  This is her 11th  year at Saint Elizabeth School.  She attended Catholic grade school and high school,  and knew from a young age she wanted to be a teacher.  Upon graduation from high school, she attended Montgomery County Community College,  and transferred to West Chester University,  where she received her Early Childhood Education Degree in 2001.  She began working with children in a child care setting.  She substitute taught for the Norristown Area School District, was a preschool teacher in Montgomery County, attended Montessori Training, and volunteered for the Chester County Reading Association.  She is married to her wonderful husband Scott, and they have a son named Michael. 

Mrs. Cathleen Hanrahan - 1B

For Mrs. Cathleen Hanrahan, working with the students, staff, and families at Saint Elizabeth School for the past eight years has been both rewarding and heartwarming.  She strives to find each child’s spark, and motivate them to enjoy a positive and fun attitude toward learning.

Her first degree was applied to work within the business worlds in New York City and Pennsylvania. While raising her own children with her husband, she later fulfilled a desire to pursue a teaching career. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree with certifications in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education to make that dream a reality. She loves working with first graders within our Saint Elizabeth community! Please contact her if she can help in any way, or answer questions that you may have about the school year. She looks forward to working with her class, and seeing the students' progression over this school year!

Mrs. Karen Hoyer - 2A

Mrs. Karen Hoyer's family have been members of Saint Elizabeth Parish since its inception.  At the invitation of Father Mullin, she served on the original Parish School Steering Committee. After working as a parent volunteer, she joined the school staff in 2010 as a first grade aide and school substitute, and beginning in 2017-2018 in the position of second grade teacher for 2A.  She is excited to continue to participate in this dynamic and faith-based learning environment.  She truly loves the students of Saint Elizabeth, and believes in our mission of preparing our youth for the challenges of tomorrow.

She and her husband, Patrick, are the proud parents of Lauren, a Bishop Shanahan and West Chester University graduate, and Megan, a member of the the first graduating class of Saint Elizabeth and its first School President, who graduated from James Madison University.

Mrs. Sarah Birtwistle - 2B

Mrs. Sarah Birtwistle's interest in teaching began in second grade, with a teacher who remains one of her favorites to this day. Her entire education took place in Catholic schools. She graduated from the University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and a minor in Spanish. She has been teaching for 11 years, and loves what she does!

Mrs. Debra Tutterice - 3A

Mrs. Debra Tutterice is excited to be back working at Saint Elizabeth!  2017-2018 will be her second full-time teaching year here.  Prior to moving to third grade, she was a fifth grade teacher here, and a long-term substitute in our third , seventh, and eighth grades. Before coming to Saint Elizabeth, she worked in the Downingtown Area School District.  She has two children, a son and a daughter.  Her son goes to Bishop Shanahan High School, and her daughter goes to Downingtown East High School. 

Mrs. Melissa Nemic - 3B

Mrs. Melissa Nemic graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, with a minor in Special Education. In 2011, she received her ESL (English as a Second Language) certification. She has been teaching for nine years. She spent three years teaching remedial reading in the Coatesville Area School District as part of their EAP program, and she has been teaching at Saint Elizabeth Parish School since 2011. She says it is truly a blessing being part of such a wonderful Catholic community.

Mrs. Jo Anna Shope - 4A

Mrs. Jo Anna Shope is so happy to be starting her ninth year (2017-2018) at Saint Elizabeth.  She has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a Master of Education from the University of Pittsburgh.

It seems her entire life has revolved around education: from experiencing her own growth, helping her children navigate their path, and now encouraging her classroom students. She believes that education is a team effort between the student, teacher, and parents. Learning is discovery, and every child possesses unique gifts from God. She looks forward to working with her students, and having a fantastic year! 

Mrs. Jennifer Grygo - 4B

The 2017-2018 school year will be Mrs. Jennifer Grygo's 10th at Saint Elizabeth.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Villanova University, and her Master of Arts in Literacy from West Chester University.  She has Elementary K-6, English 7-12, and Reading Specialist K-12 certifications.  She loves helping my students achieve their highest potential!

Mrs. Sandra Shoen - 5B

Mrs. Sandra Shoen is starting her 22nd year of teaching in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.  2017-2018 will be her 12th year at Saint Elizabeth.  Before that, she taught for 10 years at Saint Matthew School in Philadelphia.  Over the years, she has taught 2nd grade (all subjects), 5th grade (all subjects), 6th grade (Math), 7th grade (Math), and 8th grade (Math).  When it comes to teaching, Religion and Math are her passions.  She believes in Catholic Education, and has dedicated her career to it. 

Mrs. Paula Ringenbach - 6A

Mrs. Paula Ringenbach has been teaching math for five years.  Mrs. Ringenbach has a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science from Penn State University, and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University – Fresno.  Before discovering her love of teaching, she worked as an aircraft safety engineer for the FAA, and as a structural engineer for the United States Air Force. 

Mr. Andrew Shirker - 6B

Mr. Andrew Shirker has been teaching for 20 years.  He has taught in the Cocalico School District (Lancaster County, Pa.), Saint Norbert (Paoli, Pa.), Saint Basil (Kimberton, Pa.), and Saint Mary Magdalen (Media, Pa.).  Mr. Shirker is Level II certified in the state of Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Judith Kluth - 6th Grade ELA

Mrs. Judith Kluth has served 18 years as a middle school educator. She received her Masters in Education from Neumann University, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications/Marketing from the University of Scranton. Additionally, she has served 19 years as Catechist.

Mrs. Jennifer D'Amelio - 7A

Mrs. Jennifer D'Amelio has been a Catholic School teacher for almost 20 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from Pennsylvania State University. She went on to attend Holy Family University, where she earned her Master of Arts in Secondary Education/English. She is a Pennsylvania-certified Secondary Education (grades 7-12) and English teacher.

Ms. Jacqueline Markiewicz - 7B

Ms. Jacqueline Markiewicz is one of the seventh grade homeroom teachers here at Saint Elizabeth.  She is a graduate of West Chester University of Pennsylvania, and has been passionately teaching not only Social Studies, but ELA classes for the past several years.  Her initial interest in teaching began with one of her college history classes.  The professor brought the subject to life, she truly enjoyed attending the lectures, and she has been hooked ever since!

Ms. Jennifer Nangle - 8A

Ms. Jennifer Nangle is starting her 16th year in the Archdiocese of the Philadelphia in 2017-2018.  This will be her 12th year at Saint Elizabeth, and before that, she taught for four years at Saints Philip and James in Exton, Pa.  Over the years, she has taught mostly science, but also other subjects to 5th through 8th graders.  She is very dedicated to exposing the students to the importance of STREAM in both her science and religion classes.

Mrs. Helen Locke - 8B

Mrs. Helen Locke has been involved in Catholic education for 39 years.  Twelve of those years have been in secondary education, and the balance in elementary education, as both a teacher and an administrator.  In addition to her undergraduate degree in History,  she holds two Masters Degrees in Religious Studies and Pastoral Counseling.

Mrs. Pamela McHugh - Science Lab

Mrs. Pamela McHugh believes in developing and fostering the whole person both spiritually and academically. She not only attended a Catholic grade school, but also attended a Jesuit high school and college. She truly connected with the Jesuit educational philosophy, and feels very fortunate that she now has an opportunity to share many of their teachings to her students. Prior to teaching at Saint Elizabeth, she taught in the public school sector for 12 years. She has an undergraduate degree as well as a Master of Science in Education from Loyola University.

Mrs. Maureen Somers - Certified School Nurse

Mrs. Maureen Somers is a graduate of Penn State University, and completed most of her training at Hershey Medical Center. She holds an Educational Specialist II Certificate.  She studied and completed the School Health Certification at Widener University at the Graduate level.  Her background as a Pediatric Nurse comes out of her work at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP),  the Children’s Seashore House, and Children’s Rehab Hospital. She is entering her fourth year as School Nurse at Saint Elizabeth, and enjoys taking care of the students. 

Mrs. Mary Ellen Tomaine - Library

Mrs. Mary Ellen Tomaine is a graduate of Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa.  She holds Pennsylvania certifications in Library Science K-12, and Elementary Education K-6.

Mrs. Louise Shanley - Music

Mrs. Louise Shanley has been teaching music at Saint Elizabeth for almost 10 years.  She started piano lessons when she was five years old, and grew up mostly in New Jersey, in a very musical family.  She has a degree from Cornell University, with continuing education at Immaculata University.

Mrs. Patricia Guzman - Spanish

Mrs. Patricia Guzman has spent 15 years in education: with 11 in Spanish, one as a Reading Specialist, one in Language Arts, and two at Saint Norbert School in grades 5-7  teaching multiple subjects. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, and a Master of Arts  in Reading and Language Arts. Her PA State Level II Certifications include: Elementary Education (K-8), Reading Specialist (K-12), Middle School Language Arts (6-8), English as a Second Language Program Specialist (K-12), and Spanish (K-12).

Ms. Liz Dwyer - Art

Ms. Liz Dwyer graduated from Temple University in 2016. She attended the Tyler School of Art, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Art Education. During her time at Temple University, she student taught for a semester at Wallingford Elementary School, where she was responsible for all teacher obligations, such as designing, teaching, and organizing lessons. She also interned at Upper Darby High School and Drexel Hill Middle School. Shortly after graduating, she earned her teaching certification for Art in grades K-12.

Mr. William Kuhn - Technology

Mr. William Kuhn is currently the Saint Elizabeth K-8 Instructional Technology Teacher. His professional and educational experience include an undergraduate degree from La Salle University, and certifications in Pennsylvania Elementary Education and Technology, as well as Personal Computer repair, Computer Programming, and Help Desk Administration.

Mrs. Barbara Nawn - Gym

Mrs. Barbara Nawn has been a physical education teacher at Saint Elizabeth for nine years, and has worked in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for 15 years. Presently, she serves on the Archdiocese P.E. Curriculum Committee as its Chairperson. She spent all 16 years of her education in Catholic School, graduating from Saint Joseph's University. Her children all benefited from a Catholic education. The guiding principle for our P.E. program is "How Would Jesus Play?" She enjoys spending time with her children and grandchild, going to the beach, and playing in her Jeeps.
