Catholic Schools Week Opening Liturgies (Saturday, January 26, 5:30 PM Vigil Mass; Sunday, January 27, 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM & 11:30 AM Masses) At each Mass, a Student Council Officer will read their essay about the positive Catholic school experiences they have had while attending Saint Elizabeth Parish School. Students, please wear your uniforms to Mass!
Catholic Schools Week Open House (Sunday, January 27, 12:30-2:00 PM) All are invited to come to our open house to find out more about Saint Elizabeth Parish School! Explore our NEW Pre-K4 program which starts in 2019-2020, as well as our full day Kindergarten, and first through eighth grade programs. Our teachers and staff will be available for you to talk to!
Applications for new students and siblings of current students are available NOW! Please call the school office at 610-646-6540 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. All applications and re-registrations must be returned to the school office by Thursday, January 31!
Art Show (All Week! January 27-February 1): Come and see the amazing artwork produced by our Saint Elizabeth students, under the direction of Art teacher Mrs. Liz Griffin. The art will be spread throughout the hallways on both floors, and pieces will be featured from each grade! Don’t forget to check out the artwork right outside of the Book Fair, too!
Scholastic Book Fair in the Library (All Week! January 27-February 1) This year’s theme is “The Enchanted Forest: Let Your Imagination Grow!” Click here for more info! REGISTERED and CLEARED volunteers are needed…please see above for the Sign Up Genius link to help out!
Science Fair Science Fair projects from our sixth and seventh grade students will be on display in the Saint John the Baptist room on the second floor. This year, there were 26 sixth grade projects and 34 seventh grade projects submitted. Judging took place on Friday, January 25 from several judges, whose backgrounds range from engineers to retired educators. The top five projects for each grade will move on to the Chester County Science Fair Competition. The winning projects were announced this morning. Congratulations to all who placed, and thanks to all of the students who participated!
In sixth grade: 1st place: "Spectrum Splash"-Katie H.; 2nd place: "A Wild Ride" -Andrew E.; 3rd place: "Does Lack of Sleep Affect Memory?"-Rachel M.; 4th place: "Under Pressure"-Ella M.; 5th place: "The Highs and Lows of Helium"-Caitlin G.
In seventh grade: 1st place: "Mother Nature's Nutrition Shelf Life"-Ava F.; 2nd place: "Smells So Good I Can Taste It"- Callie A.; 3rd place: "Out of the Park" -Lucia S.; 4th place: "Do You Hear What I Hear?"-Maeve B.; 5th place: "Gluten in Your Gut"-Suzanne G.
Class Colors Dress Down Day & Student Appreciation Day Ice Cream Social (Tuesday, January 29): Each class has been assigned a color to wear for a special dress down day, which reflects our character traits at Saint Elizabeth. An ice cream social will be held in the Social Hall in the afternoon, because we are thankful for all of our wonderful Saint Elizabeth Parish School students!
Faculty and Staff Appreciation Luncheon (Wednesday, January 30): We are also thankful for all of our fantastic teachers and staff, including our Parish staff…everyone who makes Saint Elizabeth Parish School a special place to learn. Our generous parent volunteers put their stewardship of time and treasure into making it a special event.
Mini-Field Day (Thursday, January 31): Since it’s January, it’s just a bit cold outside! So our students will stay in the nice, toasty indoor gym…and enjoy a bunch of sports-related and teamwork activities.
Annual Variety Show: “St. Elizavision” (Thursday, January 31, 7:00 PM): This year’s Variety Show’s theme is all about the magic of Movies and Television! See our talented Saint Elizabeth Parish School students perform in the gym. The 23 acts will feature a mix of singing, piano playing, comedy routines, skits, and even ice skating! Come see a team of teachers perform, too! FREE admission!
Closing Liturgy for Catholic Schools Week (Friday, February 1, 11:15 AM): Please join us for Mass at 11:15 AM in the church, as we give thanks for another great Catholic Schools Week. Peacemaker Awards will be given to students who have exhibited the virtue of self-discipline. All are welcome!
Pizza Bingo! (Friday, February 1, 6:00-9:00 PM): Catholic Schools Week 2019 wraps up with this very popular annual event…fun for the whole family! Play Bingo as our faculty and staff members call the numbers. Enjoy pizza, refreshments, and dessert! Win prizes!
